About Us

Who we are, what we do, and how your time, yarn, and purchases make a difference.

Who we are

Stitches for Love is a volunteer organization made up of people who love to crochet. We're currently working toward becoming a registered nonprofit.

Lots of crocheters want to put their skills toward something meaningful, and lots of hospitals could use handmade items for their patients. They just don't always find each other. We're here to bridge that gap.

What we do

  • Learn what hospitals need: we work directly with our hospital partners to find out which items would help their patients most.
  • Connect volunteers: we share those needs with crocheters who want to help, so every piece made is a piece that's wanted.
  • Donate: finished items go to our partner hospitals for patients and their families.

Our hospital partners

Washington Hospital

Fremont, CA

Our volunteers make neutral-colored baby bonnets for newborns at Washington Hospital.

UCSF Hospital

San Francisco, CA

Our volunteers make blankets, bags, and pillowcases for patients at UCSF Hospital.

Where shop money goes

Not everyone crochets, and that's okay! You can still help by buying a piece from our shop or requesting a custom one.

90% of proceeds are donated to Washington Hospital and UCSF Hospital. 10% covers materials, shipping, and keeping Stitches for Love running and growing.

Spread the word

Know someone who crochets? Send them our way. The more volunteers we have, the more patients we can reach.
